Teresasgarage.com honored in monthly newsletter

Teresasgarage.com was honored in a monthly newsletter after assisting in resurrecting a 1929 Fire Truck for the Virginia City, Nevada Comstock Fireman’s Museum with great success back in July. The truck has been sitting for some 10 plus years and the Board of Directors from the Museum were excited to proudly display her in parades and at the Museum. Teresa felt this was an honor to work on such a grand machine and the first motorized fire fighting apparatuses Virginia City had back in 1929. Prior to this Fire Truck, they used a Horse drawn fire cart before the Steam powered unit was developed. This newsletter explains more.

Once the work was completed, which took a little over a month, the Fire Truck was having its rubber hitting the road and Teresa was awarded the Chief Master Mechanic certificate by Board member Joe Curtis for all her efforts. Working on this truck did not seem like work, Teresa stated, it was more like bringing an old gal back to life again for all to see and enjoy. Every time I work on something of this vintage, it is like stepping back in time and understanding how things worked back in those days with very little equipment to get the job done. She explained that it is always an education for her.

The Fire Museum monthly newsletter paid tribute to this fire truck and Teresa’s hard work. Here it is in its entirety. What a great honor for Teresasgarage.com. Enjoy.
